This article explores the complex relationship between political polarization and the health of democratic institutions. It delves into how increasing ideological divides can undermine democratic processes, erode trust in public institutions, and impede effective governance. Through quantitative analysis of voter behavior data and qualitative assessments of legislative debates, this study highlights the adverse effects of polarization on political discourse, legislative deadlock, and public policy outcomes. The findings suggest that polarization is linked to a decline in democratic norms and a reduction in institutional effectiveness.
