Social mobility remains a critical issue in urban environments, where economic and social disparities are often stark. This article examines the factors influencing social mobility in cities, exploring how urban settings can either facilitate or hinder upward mobility across various socioeconomic classes. Focusing on education, employment, housing, and social networks, the paper assesses the key drivers of social mobility and the challenges faced by lower-income communities in accessing opportunities for advancement. Using case studies from different cities, the paper discusses policy interventions that have shown promise in addressing class divides. The findings highlight the importance of targeted strategies, including improved access to education, affordable housing, and job creation, to ensure equitable opportunities for all urban residents.
