Ethnic Conflict, Peacebuilding, Social Cohesion, Conflict ResolutionAbstract
Ethnic conflicts represent some of the most persistent and challenging forms of violence worldwide. This article explores the dynamics that underlie ethnic conflicts, focusing on the socio-political, economic, and historical factors that fuel ethnic tensions. Moreover, the article assesses various peacebuilding efforts and mechanisms implemented globally and within Pakistan to mitigate such conflicts. Through qualitative and quantitative analyses, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of conflict causation, escalation, and resolution. Two empirical case studies, including graphical representations, illustrate trends in ethnic violence and peace initiatives. The findings emphasize the importance of inclusive governance, grassroots peacebuilding, and sustainable socio-economic reforms in promoting durable peace.
